RE: iZotope RX2 Denoiser causing crash in render
"could be that my PC is beefy" That certainly helps. I used to take a big hit running Wave Hammer until I upgraded my hardware. Still though, if you're having issues.... Plus it might depend on which Rx plugs we're talking about here. Doing the

New Blue Titler fails on Win8
Hi, Using Vegas 11, build 683 with NBT Build 815 on a Win7 x64 machine works just fine. Using the same software on identical hardware but on Win8 x64 machine fails to load NBT when V11 starts, stating the the GPU capabilities are low. Video drivers

RE: Convert back to older release on V11
I think Grazie is on to something. I did reinstall SVP11 (disk) and it quit crashing for a while but I kept getting the haunting feeling my Quadro FX4600 card was broke as SVP11 did not work as well as 10. The reason, I discovered from other

RE: Are These Rendering Times Normal? / System Upgrade
Without a lot of calculating, I'd expect a maximum rendering time of 7 to 9 hours on your system. You could hit 20 or more BUT you did identify the odd thing - your drop in CPU demand. If no other application is making a demand on your CPU and the

    > "Again, not quite correct. It's the other way around. a windows machine will cost almost $1000 less with roughly or exactly the same hardware." I priced it myself. I know what I saw. There as no error. The Mac Pro was $1,000 less with

RE: Sound Forge "Finally On The Mac"?
Again, not quite correct. It's the other way around. a windows machine will cost almost $1000 less with roughly or exactly the same hardware. You don't have to buy HP or Boxx, that is the point. You have choices. With Apple you don't. New mac book

New computer FREEZES completely during render
I'm a long time user of Sony Vegas. Been using since V4. Currently have V11 (x64). I've also always built my own PCs with no trouble at all. Well just last week I built a new PC, or rather upgraded my motherboard and processor, for the fourth or

    RE: OT - XP upgrade
When you say "reinstalled SP3" I presume you mean just the Service Pack. A clean reinstall of Windows from scratch is the best medicine for an old (and not so old) computer. Don't upgrade Windows unless you need some feature in the later version.

RE: vegas pro 12 coming soon ?
They usually have reasonable upgrade offers. As I decided to skip a version with Vegas 11 (my old PC didn't have a Cuda enabled GPU), I wouldn't mind seeing the upgrade in the next half year. However, I do feel that Sony should fix the current

Vegas Pro 11 crashes with Titler Pro - resolved
Hi all, I wanted to share this solution with anyone who might be interested. I upgraded from Vegas 10 Pro to Vegas Pro 11 64-bit (build 683), recently and found Vegas locking up, becoming completely unresponsive on a regular basis every time I

Anyone working in 2k or 4k?
My partner and I are thinking about getting one of the new BlackMagic cameras, which will put us firmly in 2k land.......I see that my current NVIDIA card supports this resolution, and the one I am considering upgrading to (570) for now does

RE: Help - VMS 10 crash with MOV files, works with MP4
First of all, realize that editing support for AVCHD and its MOV clones, with their incredibly long GOP structures, and complex compression tricks, is a work in progress. Machines, software, and players are slowly catching up with a transport stream

    RE: 6-core Render Speeds: 3930K vs. 980X?
Over all, the 3930K is a better CPU. I have never used a 990X but all performance tests indicate the 3930K is better. If you invest $1,000 in a 990X, you know your hardware will have reached the end of its line. The mobo will not be good enough to

RE: Graphic Artists Use Apple - VP to move over too?
Avid and PT have both, of course, been on PC for a very long time, as have ALL Adobe products for an even longer time, so I am not sure what the point of this list was, except to show how important the PC market was for all of these software

RE: Why is Vegas not working with GTX680 and GTX690
I read an editorial comment in the most recent maximumpc (hard copy) magazine that nvidia was to start making different versions of their chipset for gaming and workstation class cards perhaps beginning with the 6 series cards. It wouldn't surprise

RE: Sony Recruiting for Mac Software Beta Testers?
Well, there's folks like me who get all their work done and bring in the bacon using 32 bit systems and XP. Vegas becoming 64 bit only would not make me upgrade *ALL* my PCs, and i'm not going to use a version of Vegas that only runs on my newest

    RE: Upgrading to i7-3930K
Our (3) Asus P6T6 WS motherboards have been running glitch-free for almost 3 years so I can vouch for the quality of Asus' WS class boards. Our main editing rig also has Noctua fans throughout and they are still running very quiet almost 3 years

RE: Sony Recruiting for Mac Software Beta Testers?
I'd love to know where I could get a $100 gaming card, heh. Most decent gaming cards start at $350, but can reach up to $1000 if you look at something like the GTX 690. Granted, even those aren't designed exclusively for GPU acceleration of things

RE: Sony Recruiting for Mac Software Beta Testers?
What JR says is a great idea, and I am not wanting to start a Mac vs. PC debate, but even this does not provide a completely stable crash free editing environment. and probably JR is not claiming that it will be %100 problem free, although I can't
