RE: Can't read DVCPro HD file from Mac
The back story is I'm trying to help out a local theater that purchased a 3-camera remote control switching system that feeds to a BlackMagic Decklink Extreme 3d card on a Mac. They got the system, but no one told them how to use it, so I

Can't read DVCPro HD file from Mac
I was given a file recorded using the QuickTime DVCPro HD codec on a Mac using a Blackmagic Decklink Extreme capture card at 1080i59.94. VLC will play it on my PC, but Vegas 12 doesn't open the video stream. I do get the audio, though. What am I

RE: Help with Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card
For me it was a driver issue. I had the older Blackmagic driver 9.0.0 installed - have yet updated to the latest driver 9.7.1., and now it works also with build 563. Even if I have to state that 1080 50p projects work fine with a 720 50p preview

RE: Help with Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card
I have the PCI BlackMagic Intensity Pro and it (sort of) works with VPro12 build 563. The preview and trimmer window will output to it and playback will output to it but sometimes - I have not yet established why - it refused to show playback and

@Marc S Thanks Marc S. Your post is proof that the Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card will work with VP 12. Preview Device in VP does not see the card. I just uninstalled the drivers and did a new install--not sure why except hoping for

RE: Help with Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card
@atom12 I had to install legacy drivers for OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 for firewire to work. Is this the same drivers you refererence? As I mentioned earlier the Blackmagic contents box appeared to have been opened and absent of a Installation disk

RE: Help with Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card
While you're waiting for Blackmagic support, I'd try some of the legacy drivers just to see. That was the reason I posted that link, not realizing that the latest one wasn't on there. I switched to AJA several years ago, but back in the days when

RE: Help with Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card
I cannot say definitely, but BlackMagic support should be able to confirm the following statement " WE HAVE NOT tested the card on a board configuration such as yours." When they issue these statements it means exactly what it says, it does not

O.K. I downloaded and installed 9.7 Desktop Video driver. Restarted my computer, but unfortunately VP 12 is not seeing it. I am on build 394 but don't see that build 486 or 563 would make a difference. Perhaps it will not work on my system--Intel

RE: Help with Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro card
You SHOULD KNOW several things. 1) You do need the driver install to be availiable such that on your hardware the card will be recognized. 2) That the card will only work on certain platforms and chipsets. 3) That BlackMagic does not support

As compared to the BlackMagic pocket camera, what the GF6 would have would be: 1/ 16 megapixel stills with RAW. 2/ Autofocus with touch, facial recogition and motion following modes. 3/ Articulating touch screen. 4/ Regular Micro 4/3 crop factor

This is one of those products that I'm so glad is there, even though I am not going to use it personally. For now I am incredibly happy with my GH3 and growing to love my little GoPro 3 Black as well. I am happy any time a product comes along that

I have the Blackmagic Cinema Camera (BMCC) and love it so far. Beautiful image and the raw image is just so smooth. So much latitude. Bob's right. Moving a lot of data around. I'm working on a documentary and thought about not shooting raw. But,

RE: Script to add timecode to (some) QuickTime files
This script is now unnecessary for VP12 Build 563. Build 563 appears to fix the issue with reading timecodes in QuickTime files created by both Resolve and the Blackmagic Cinema Camera. However, there still seems to be an issue reading timecodes in

    RE: New 563 Build
Unfortunately, the timecode issue with QuickTime files appears to be only partially fixed. To be fair, it isn't clear if this is due to the camera or to VP12 or to QuickTime. The timecode seems to be read fine for .mov files created by Resolve and

You may be going places you really don't want to go. Consider the outputs of your chosen broadcast receiver device. 1) You are probably correct the HDMI will have protect. a no go 2) You cannot really record component without getting overly complex.
