0xc0000005 Error

Former user wrote on 7/22/2018, 3:47 AM

I was using FL Studio and ASIO driver settings to record audio yesterday, not sure if that's related to the problem but now I can't even open Vegas to edit the video footage; it gets stuck at Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing -

I've never had this issue before, and in fact on a side note (as I've had to move my PC) I swear I often use the top port for HDMI but only the bottom one seems to be working, again not sure if that's related

Please, see if http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3376773/windows-error-0xc0000005.html helps.

Thank you, checked it but it doesn't solve the issue - my error is an unmanaged exception rather than an access violation

OK, then perhaps one of these could help?

Based on the file name, it looks like an AMD video driver issue.

I've had a look around and quoted the .dll that is mentioned in my error and it appears that people solve the problem by uninstalling and re-installing their video drivers using DDU ,any advice? i'm not a tech whizz sorry guys

My advice is to have a good system image backup so often around here that many forum members think I’m a one-trick pony.

Since you haven’t mentioned or used that option, the AMD Cean Uninstallation Utility could be found here:

Before uninstalling my video drivers, will I need something to re-install them ?

I'm only tentative to do this in case it means that my PC won't send any visuals to my monitor at all and I'll be stuck

Windows has a default driver that will let you run your monitor. Visit this site to find the latest driver.

Thank you John for clearing this up for me- I do actually have a NVidia graphics card so I assume I'll have to look on their downloads page

Hi John just checked this out, installed DDU and booted my PC in safe mode, uninstalled my drivers and re-installed from the NVIDIA website and then restarted once again, and still having the same startup issue - stuck now !:(
