32 bit Apps a.k.a. What Was Old is New Again

I just noticed this post on the DVD Architect forum and remembered this discussion from a number of years ago on the Sony Vegas Forum. Normally, I wouldn't worry until I had the bug, but I'm contemplating a project where I'll make Blu-ray projects of my stills back to 2006 and I anticipate that I will have many, many titles on the disk and many, many menu entries.

Though I've never run into the bug, I wonder if the 32 bit Windows Quicktime application would benefit from more memory for those people who crash when too many .MOV files are added to a Vegas Pro project.

It appears to be a problem of the 32 bit version can't use any more than 2 gig regardless of how much memory you have. The best way is to not use the MOV container, by rendering intermediates that SMS or Vegas prefers such as avi or mxf, or render intermediates which combine multiple mov clips to a larger mov clip, to reduce the number of mov events on the timeline.
