60 FPS footage does not look 60 FPS after Rendering.

Hey everyone, I've recorded a variety of stuff using OBS. A little bit of desktop, a little bit of gaming, a little bit of browsing, etc etc. Everything looks fantastic on the source footage but when I drop it into Vegas, the preview window is running at 60fps, but the preview itself looks maybe 24 - 30 fps.

I've tried rendering using NVENC because I assumed it was a bug but the render footage is also terribly low FPS. A

Any suggestions?

Yes. Post the File Properties for your OBS footage, following the instructions in sections "B" and "C" of this thread.

There are as many ways to set up OBS for recording as there are jelly beans in a five gallon jar. Only a few combinations actually make good sense for editing in Vegas Pro.

Unfortunately, NVENC is often a terrible performer in the Vegas Preview because it is harder to decode, even though the hardware acceleration makes is a top performer in capturing your video. It's the result of the type of video stream compression being used.

You haven't provided enough info but I can simulate a scenario where you may see this. You are recording in NVENC MKV, you rewrap to mp4, this creates a variable frame rate video that most video editor software will tolerate, but not Vegas. You verify this by using a media player going frame by frame, it is likely you'll see some duplicated frames, but not to the extent that you see in Vegas

Next go frame by frame in Vegas with same video at same location, if you have many more duplicated frames you now know what the problem is, Vegas handling variable frame badly. It is better to encode in hybrid MP4 or fragmented mp4 then rewrap to mp4, the frame rate will remain constant. Also it's possible Vegas will use hybrid MP4 without rewrapping.

If you're not doing as I've outlined give more details.
