AC-3 missing from render menu

I just rebuilt my computer and re-installed Sony Vegas Pro 9.0 64 bit and DVD Architect 5.0. I'm trying to render a Dolby Digital AC-3 and the option isn't in the pull down menu. I checked the project properties and made sure the audio settings were set to 5.1 surround and tried stereo. Didn't work.

I have also uninstalled DVD Architect (DVDA) and re-installed it because I read on a forum that the AC-3 plugin comes with DVDA. Didn't work. I've spent around a half day on this. Please help. Exhausted.

only things i can think of are unlikely...

1) is there an audio track on the Vegas timeline (no audio track, no audio render options)
2) you re-installed DVD-A, but did you register (or re-register)? ..don't know why this would make the difference, but...

...sure i've seen some variant of this problem mentioned here before but can't find it now.

Yes I've re-registered and the project has an audio track. Thanks for trying, but I'm hoping there another user that knows the fix.

Weird one that. I'd try installing DVDA 5.2 and a trial of V12. They should install the option, though why V9 and DVDA 5 haven't done it is a mystery. I take it you've un-installed both, then re-installed?

I haven't tried uninstalling both. I'll try it but I really think it's some setting I'm missing.

Have you installed a third party CODEC pack that may be interfering with Vegas' ability to find it's own AC3 CODEC? I've that happen to me before with a video CODEC.

Audio render options are not presented when an audio track is present but muted.

Thought it was just AC.3 not all audio options?

It's easy enough to prove for yourself. I tried it with Vegas Pro 9.0e this morning.

Well, this is embarrassing! I was muted. I can't believe how many hours I spent trying to research that thinking CODEC or unregistered AC-3 plugin. Yikes....John -THANK YOU!!!
