account, vegas365, laptop

I'm using Vegas 365. Is there a way to use it alternately between PC and laptop?

The official authentication number is said to be once per account, so I am wondering if there is a different process when authenticating from a PC to a laptop.

When authenticating with another computer, I remember seeing a message saying that the authentication renewal time would be 1 month, but I'm not sure if it's accurate. If you have any information regarding Vegas 365, please help. thank you

You can deactivate it from the help menu on either system.

Thank you for your reply. But could you explain it in a little more detail?

Go into VEGAS, open the help menu and click deactivate to deactivate the software on this system. You can then activate it on a different system and repeat the process to use it on the other one again. There is no once per month limitation if you do it this way.

Thankyou

I knew that method was limited to a month. Are the two methods different systems?

From the forum's FAQ's - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-pro-faqs-and-troubleshooting-guides--104787/ - at point 9:

9. How many computers can I use VEGAS Pro on?
You can use VEGAS Pro (14.0 and later, perpetual and SmartScription licenses) simultaneously on 2 devices. VEGAS Pro 365 can be used on 1 device at a time.

To deactivate a device, so you can activate a different one, visit your MAGIX account > My Products > Show More Details > Deactivate. This option can be used only once a month.

In VEGAS Pro 14.0 or later, you can also choose Deactivate the Software on this PC from the Help menu This option can be used as often as you wish. An internet connection is required.

Older versions of Vegas Pro than 14.0 are licensed under a system (as previously used by Sony) which permits use on multiple computers by one user; after an unspecified number of installations on different or updated PCs you may need to contact support to reset your "installation count".

Thank you for your reply. So which one is correct between the official manual and the answer given above?

Dexcon wrote on 4/6/2024, 4:05 AM

Both methods are official, correct and available to you - it's your choice.

Obviously, if you need to de-activate more than once per rolling month, then de-activation via the Help menu in Vegas Pro is the only method to use unless you want to wait until the month anniversary rolls around to de-activate via your MAGIX My Account.

Is it possible to access the help menu within the Vegas program, and to activate an account (which can be done once a month) within the website? Until now, I thought that the 'help' method was also a method within the site. This is a method I was completely unaware of. Thank you very much for your reply.

Dexcon wrote on 4/6/2024, 4:41 AM

Only de-activation is available via either Vegas Pro's help menu:

... or your MAGIX My Account.

The only method for activation is always the same as when you first installed Vegas Pro: start the program and it will take you through the activation process.

The Help menu is of no use for activation because to access the Help menu, you will need to have opened Vegas Pro - and Vegas Pro won't open unless its already been activated.
