Hi, I would like to attempt to recreate an edit similar to this video (
). I'm confident I can replicate some of the odd glitchy video effects outside of VEGAS Effects. However, I don't know how to recreate the projector effect with the animated background/light. Is there any advice on how to approach that particular effect?
Use light leak overlays like this one (but you'll preferably want one with an alpha channel, if you can't find one, play around with the different compositing modes, like screen, etc.. until you find the right look).

Thank you for this, but this isn't the solution I was looking for. It did help sell the effect better, though.

It's more so that I want to find a way to replicate the film reel projector's light rays, which is also following the background video (which I assume is playing a variety of cartoons, one of them being Tom and Jerry and Spongebob). I don't know how to explain it further since I'm unfamiliar with those type of effects, but that's the best I can describe it.
Additionally, the light being casted on the Spongebob characters have the video's shadow on them as well. I'm not sure how I can do this in Vegas Effects, as the editor apparently created the video in Adobe After Effects, but any help is appreciated.
