all of a sudden getting low memory errors and freezes bluray render

mike-kasbaum wrote on 7/13/2017, 2:53 PM

This is maddening as I have created dozens of bluray with Vegas going back to Vegas 8. I am currently on 13 and when I try and render this project it either gets 3/4 of the way through and then stops with Low Memory error OR freezes part way into the render and won't go any further. I check the ram and no problems show so am really stumped on what the problem could be.

Divide the timeline in half, quarter, etc. and render sections to prove or eliminate media or applied effects as a factor.

Low memory could also refer to your harddrives. Make sure you have plenty of space on your temp drive file as well as the drive to which you are rendering.

Keep in mind that I have been using the same cameras and same type of projects with no problems so why all of a sudden is driving me crazy. The last freeze and error (even while trying to render just a section and not the whole thing) was an "unman edged exception" error. I don't render to the c drive so don't think temp is the problem as I have tried rendering to different drives with same errors. I tried copying the timeline to a new project with same problems.

Looks like it might be the Boris FX that was applied. Have you tried turning that FX off and rendering it?

Try render the last part of video that uses BorisFX separately without GPU acceleration... is it possible?

I just recently had a problem of not finishing to creating a blue ray iso, long project.

I checked out Nicks faq, and implemented 2 of them. I switched off gpu acceleration and made the source files and to be iso file on separate drives. This fixed it.

I always have gpu acceleration off so has to be something else going on.

I removed the Boris effects and was able to render 95% of it and then rendered the last highlights separately. I assume the sony license with Boris expired with the sale. The view taskmaster shows a very high ram usage even when vegas is not doing anything so something is still wrong.
