Any way to enlarge the thumbnails?

Len Kaufman wrote on 12/19/2016, 11:48 AM

I believe I asked this question back when I was on SVP 13. Didn't know if the answer has changed with MVP 14. Is there any way to enlarge the thumbnails of the clips? Changing the size of the area only enlarges the area, but the thumbnails remain the same size. In Windows, we can choose extra large thumbnails. Sure would be great to have that available in MVP 14. Am I the only one that thinks this would be a good idea?

Just found yesterday that you can adjust the thumbnail size by hold Ctrl and do scroll mouse.

This function only appear in Media Generators, Transitions, Video FX, and Explorer tab. Not available in Project Media tab.

Thanks, Set. That's new info to me, but where I really need it is in Project Media. I'm working on a project that I recently shot, and it has over 1000 clips. Going blind trying to sort out the good guys from the bad guys. I found that the easiest way is by just opening the folder in Windows on one of my monitors (33"), and making note of clips I want to consider and then going back to Vegas. How great it would be if I could just do it all in Vegas. It would even be useful if I could pull the project media tab away from the main program and open it up big on that screen and see more clips at once, but as far as I can see, that isn't possible either.

Currently, in the selection stage, I've made the trimmer window fill the 33" screen. I've saved this view configuration as one of my "view layouts" and when I want to go back to just plain editing, clicking on a previously saved view layout. That's been very helpful.

What if you don’t have a mouse? Such as when using a laptop.

Googling "emulate mouse scroll wheel on laptop" throws up a few suggestions. It would obviously be better if the thumbnails could be zoomed another way without having to do that.

Glad to hear it's not just me. Maybe if enough people "piled on," it would prompt a response by Magix. I'm not a programmer, so I can evaluate the complexity of implementing this, but it seems if that ability already exists for the other tabs, and also exists for Windows itself, it might not be that difficult a programming problem.

Absolutely for me too!! I believe this has already come up somewhere but I'm all for adding to the fire.

Or use a Wacom pen like I often do.... In another software I work with it is done by holding down ALT on the keyboard and draging the cursor across the picture. That works with a track ball, pen or mouse.

Hi Everyone,

This feature is definitely on our list. I can't make any promises other than that I'll continue to work to prioritize our work items based on your feedback. This discussion helps.

Thank you Gary. It's reassuring to know you guys are "keeping tabs" on this site. LOL
