Oh come on guys, we need both of you here. If we got questions, you guys got the answers. Put this issue on the back burner, stop throwing insults at eachother. I want to keep on reading both of you people's posts cause I find them informative. Guys, both of you have dropped your personal opinion here, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. Once again guys, forget about this and bury the hatchet once again. You guys are well respected and the name calling and the personal attacks amount to nothing when you think of it. Let's keep the opinions geared toward Sonic Foundry products, and no eachother... Again I respect both of you guys, would surely miss reading both of your creative posts if someone decided to leave the forum. Take a deep breath, and go on and forget about this!

I agree!! Please, lets keep this professional, respectful and most of all, helpful! Take what you can use, leave the rest, and get over it! If someone's posting is "triggering" you in some way, then fine, but please take it somewhere else - it clearly doesn't belong here. I've gotten some good tips from both of your postings but this latest bit of petty, personal crap is really over the top in my opinion. If this were a moderated forum both of you would have been booted some time ago and all of us would be the losers. C'mon, lets make some music!

wow, a video guy, I never would have suspected it

WTF is going on at harman?
Once upon a time they had a company called digitech, and as they acquired more and more brands ( lexicon, eventide) even the low budget stuff was getting better and better. Tech service was first rate and prompt. Then all of a sudden the next generation of stuff ( GSP 2112/2120, Studio Quad) was " dumbed down " compared to the GSP 2101 and the TSR 24. The tech service actually sent back equipment in worse shape than they received.
Big bummer.

If you have an inside track on a new motherboard for a 2101, I'd pay a king's ransom for it

"NO they don't list their clients names on their website, because that's a pretty unprofessional tactic to attrack clients."

yeah how stupid a customer would have to be to go to a studio that did their favorite album
makes a lot of sense

we better go make sure the rest of the world knows this, Ill help by providing some links of other studios who must be unprofessional by using this tactic and you can straightern them out ok ?

here is Masterfonics

here is Westlake

Bob Ludwig ( jeez what does he know? )
http://www.guitar9.com/summbobludwig.html

here is Sun Studios ( they only did Elvis so they MUST be unprofessional right)

Seriously, this is pathetic. Yawn! I just wasted my time reading through this whole thread and have learned nothing except how truly silly people can be. These forums are not for pros only. These forums are not for feature-requests only. These forums are here for users of the product to ask questions, make suggestions, complain (intelligently) and learn. I'm learning less and less being here and I'm able to help less and less because anything I may write gets lost amidst the clutter of these bar-room style forum-brawls. Come on! We all know that writing can result in misinterpretation of intent, since we can't see each other. But how about we assume that a question is a question, rather than a backhanded insult? Or, take it off-line. Remember when Vegas Pro came out. Now that was a useful forum. I'd rather read Victor's old posts than have to weed through this crap. You're both experienced and working engineers and frankly, so what? Even if you weren't, if you had some interesting slant on things - a way of approaching a problem or setup that I hadn't thought of before, or if you had a completely novice question - I would be honored to read about it or answer it. I don't care who you are.

Thanks for reading this. I look forward to learning from all of you again soon.

Respectfully,
Charles.

Forumers,

Ok, lets have all SF products with ASIO so I can get back to mastering with them. Since I had to go WDM for my MOTU 2408mkII I cant master in any SF products. WDM does not support 0db it has an spdif out ceiling of -6db. Therefore rendering it useless.
Nice to see that a stoopid little slagging match has ensued by the smaller brains amongst us red n' whatever. "oooo.... i worked here i worked there" blah blah So what. Get back to your job and let them have ASIO. Go on have a dig at me back, like I care. Just stop being stoopid and listen to what people say, you might learn something.....

Alright, I dont really care about what questions you are answering but you are just showing that you're an idiot. Its obvious to everyone that you are the instigator. At least Pipeline has an excuse, he's defending himself against your stupidity. Do you honestly think people care about what you have to say if it doesnt pertain to their question? NO! In future if you feel you have to put someone down to make yourself feel better why dont you just kick a puppy, or beat your wife-It would make this forum less exciting but it would also cut all of the crap out. I think you and Pipeline should meet for a 'mix off' and see who does the best job, that way you can insult him for good reasons not just reasons you have made up.

Are you a girl? You certainly whine like one!

"Oh, he started picking on me wah wah wah!"-Rednroll

I am pretty sure Pipeline is defensive with you because of comments like this:

"Your inabilities is part of the PROBLEM...not the SOLUTION."
"because I worked as an audio engineer at SOMEBODY ELSE'S studio and got paid a measely $10-$15/hr engineering salary then I couldn't afford to purchase outboard gear,"
"Cash in your Pop can savings and maybe you can buy a mixing board, and we can stop hearing you cry that the inserts are POST fader. Surely a world reknown engineer like yourself can afford a mixing board? "
"Maybe if you where competent I wouldn't have to re-explain myself, because you would have understood it the first time. "
"he's nothing but a grunt working at someone else's studio."

And those comments only come from 2 posts! I didnt take the time to put in the ones from the BETA forum too.
Anyway crybaby, if you dont want to argue dont start arguments. Seems pretty simple to me! Now if only they would send me to the Middle East, I would straighten out those fellas too!

Brian,

"...can you give me work arounds for my 'Auto-tune' problem..."

I presume you're talking about Antares Auto-Tune 3 and its absolute time problem? I'm sure you're aware of the details of that issue, but in case you're not, please refer to a previous post, here. There's a mild workaround by buffering ahead 30 minutes, but of course that will start to drain the RAM. I haven't seen a followup article to the one I cite in this post, so I haven't any idea if this has been fixed or not.

Hope this helps,
Nick LaMartina

Peter,
I just finished my first BMX video, 'The Carnie and Trailer Trash Show', and I used Vegas for some of it. I was referred to you as someone who could help me with some stuff. I'd like to send you a copy of the video. Please e-mail me at oldeschool@angelfire.com

When oh when oh when are SF going to split the forum into Audio-related and Arguments?
