Audio effects bypass opposite

I’m using pro 18 on windows 10 with 32 gigs of RAM. The audio bypass effects seems to be backwards. When it’s bypassed the master effects work but not the individual channel effects which say muted. The opposite is also true. Longtime user since 3.0! Just recently went from pro 9 to 18. Any help is appreciated.

I have Vegas Pro 9.0e on and old machine and I'm running the Vegas Pro 18-284 trial on my laptop. Does this video match your experience?

Looks like it. I can't find a way to have the effects work on individual channels and the master at the same time. I never had this issue with V9

I don't understand. It appears to me that the Track fX Pan Hard Left and the Master Track fX Vibrato Pitch Shift Octave Down both work at the same time and are bypassed at the same time in Vegas 9 and Vegas 18.
