I have Vegas Pro 16 version 307 and have several Waves plugins. Yes they do all glitch, but It's been my experience that if the gui is not visible the glitches go away. For example, if I have an audio chain with an generic eq / generic compressor / and the Butch Vig Waves plugin it will glitch if I am viewing the controls of the Butch Vig plugin on my screen. If I select one of the other plugins in the chain and make (for example) the EQ controls visible, the Butch Vig plugin disappears from view and the glitching goes away. It's kind of a pain, but you can make your adjustments on the waves plugin while it's glitching, then make the gui disappear and everything plays fine. It also doesn't seem to affect the render. Hopefully this (old) problem gets solved in an update, but this is a workaround that works for me in the interim.

Stepped into the studio, added SSL Master Buss & L3 Multi-Max: set them, closed view of each, both ran fine not even a tick or click (upon showing the Waves GUI the glitch happens!). Very appreciative, surely a fix could be worked on for Vegas (for on the fly changes) yet this so welcome. Have a large collection so will test each to see all work. Great to use plugins as intended, despite that mastering may still be done in DAW, having this option especially for simpler audio situations is huge! Right on bbgunn!

Hey Joost...Used V10. Downloaded Pro 16 trial & it scanned in, immediately found all my Waves V10 plugins (all my 64x VSTs - yet Waves I own most of every collection, so a real investment). I added 1 - CL-2A or SSLE to my track chain, & right away horrid glitches of the worst kind I've seen, not minor & of the sort that optimization likely has little issue with or at least it's not what I'll bet my money on. If I buy as I have a work around, still I will try everything. Love Vegas for my needs however & looking at it still.

My DAW works ultra low latency w/Waves (all VST3) but in Vegas Pro 16: 1 track audio; 1 track video, I plugin: a total mess (& I own WSG Server One!) Magix still were totally helpful getting back to my question re: issues / purchase.

Note: Waves is not supported in Vegas according to Waves & Sony/Magix says the same. I imagine some people may have a plugin that works from Waves, but as I am able to master in Cubase Pro etc, import that to Vegas, that's how I'll work as I like to own my programs, & Adobe is the only video app Waves says is tested but Pro CC is subscription now only. Good luck...feel free to re-comment if I've not hit your question! :)

Yes this is an answer on my question. Although it is a bummer that Vegas and Waves do not go well. The thing is, I installed my waves and Vegas on an (late 2013) MacBook pro with bootcamp and the same plugins and Vegas run pretty nice on that. It must be in the combination with some hardware then.

Anyway, The Izotope plugins that i bought (are also VST3) and those run flawless on my main edit machine. So because it is Vegas+Waves+some hardware related it is a rare issue and it does not have priority to be fixed.

Magix/Vegas team is aware of this issue, but it goes on for versions now, I don't think it will be fixed soon. Big shame, I think i have to move to Izotope completely then...

Hi joost-berk...

Yes, only Adobe Premier is on the Waves Audio compat page & Magix was open about Waves issues. But the 'quoted reply" was good news. Set the Plugin, close the plugin's GUI & the glitch goes away: I used SSL E/Scheps Channel/Fairchild670/L3 16/ARS Mastering Chain, all fine! Also at V10+ & owning almost all Waves plugs/+ WSG DSP Server... rather invested! Great yet not perfect work around for Vegas Pro 16 (307), despite still do mastering in Cubase Pro 10/Wavelab for most recorded musical mixes anyways for vids for full automation, nice for final tweak in VP16. Let me know any plugins react good/bad for the record! *had other problems with Softtube & others, but this I can live with; like Vegas.

Hi SoundVisions,

We work with the Waves Platinum 9.2 bundle (64bit), Loudness Meters, Vocal Rider and EMO-D5. All this plugins work as expected when you close the GUI-window. But lately I am experiencing Vegas crashes after editing when initiating the Render As.. dialog. I think, (but i'm not shure yet) that Waves causes this crash of Vegas.

Just had a new PC built for me. Solid State drive ... i7-9700k CPU @ 3.60GHz .. 32 gigs of Ram .. 64-bit OS 10 ... 8 gig vid card. I have a legit WAVES Gold bundle plus a few other WAVE plugins.

I'm having the same issue. Been using Vegas since its introduction after sound forge. Looks like this issue has been going on for over 3 years. If ACID works great then MAGIX wants us to do audio only on ACID. Make us purchase a second app. I don't see why they would move on fixing it after so many new versions. This is a real shame. I been on the fence about trying another DAW for audio. I hate to say it but looks like this just made me jump. Anyone here have any suggestions?

Just a quick note: after the latest update of Vegas Pro 16, although I had issues, with Waves Audio plugins, it was pointed out, the audio glitch that happened during selection & setting the audio FX, the problem in fact was fine, once the setting were done & the graphic interface of the Waves plugin was merely "closed". Well, it appears now this is much improved, in that I can have a Waves plugin showing on screen while the project plays,

**I can now edit setting of the plugin & the glitches & stutters seems to be fine while the project plays.. I've just noticed this while working on a project & was (for now) pleased if in fact all such issues are solved. Despite Vegas/Waves doesn't certify each other for perfect function, it's looking like some fixes are at play. Let me know your experiences!!

It's not just Waves plugins that are affected. Sony noise reduction, Sonos plugins, t-Racks mastering plugins, half of my free downloaded ones, even bundled with Vegas VST has issues if you run them on the Master Bus and tracks at the same time.

I get stutter / temp timeline stoppage all the time with mixed 32bit and 64bit audio plug ins. While I adjust ANYTHING in audio plugin, everything totally stops. I've learned to adapt to it, I guess

It's not just the Master Bus, if you use Bus's (?) and I do, any VST effect on any Bus will cause problems especially if you use ASIO drivers in your sound card and the quality of the sound card makes NO difference. I use Softube, Lexicon and Native Instruments plugins and whenever they are put on a Bus things go to...crap.

I originally came back to this forum to see if Magix had fixed this audio issue, alas I guess not. As someone who started with Vegas 2.0 it's rather sad that Vegas is now useless for doing serious audio.

Michael, WAVES is not officially supported in VP17: https://www.waves.com/support/tech-specs/supported-hosts#version-8

Waves Version 8 for VP9 - 11 was the last.(?)

I got this official email communication when I was upgrading to my MONSTA! PC :

Please note that VegasPro17 is not officially supported with Waves software.
This does not necessarily mean that it won’t work, just that our software was not designed for it nor tested and qualified to run with it.

Due to this fact, we do not have a knowledge-base of possible issues. It might work fine, but if it doesn't we will not be able to assist.

Yeah, it’s a pity.
