AFAIK, VP does not yet support VST-3 plug-ins. Otherwise, the glitching on adjustments has not yet been fixed, but is a known issue.

Oh bummer. I've been a long time user of VP for audio sweetening on films.

But for the hefty price of staying up to date with the VP versions, it's quite discouraging to not even have VST 3 support yet. Anyone aware of a schedule of when it might be supported?

Cheers.

Not sure, but you can check whether your PC has a good grounding.

Grounding in my studio is good. Actually, I recently upgraded with some of the latest hardware available. Other programs I use such as Davinci Resolve Studio, Adobe Suite,... are working very smoothly. Just having issues with VP 17 and 19. ( I have both installed).

I'm actually only using VST2 plugins on VP, and it seems to only be an issue with the visual interfaces of the plugins. For example, I have one video track and one audio track. I have a 6 band EQ plugin on the audio track, and it processes and plays back just fine, as long as the window of the plug in is minimized.

Here's an example:

Thanks for any tips of a direction I should be looking into.

Because you don't provide your hardware infos so I can say nothing.

I have onboard audio chip, you can see its driver version and VEGAS settings.

Once I installed iZotope 9 Element I found it's very source hungry so I returned to the 8 - just liked you show your plugin panel that way.

Try to adjust the playback buffer and co.

If concrete audio hardware has been known, I think there're many experts here helping you.

@sdb

I have the same experience when it comes to using vst plugins. The Vegas stock plugins included. It doesn't matter if I use the computer on-board realtek soundcard or an external audio interface. It always stutters as soon as I try to change some effect parameters during playback. I just gave up on any audio processing in Vegas and do it all in external audio editor.

@sdb

1, up-to-date driver of that 9ys-old-MOTU for win11? Does it exist?!

2, still suspect the power supply unit of MOTU hasn't good grounding, thus the glitching.

Hi Y'all. After much experimenting and searching, it seems that the issue is with WAVES.com plugins.

I'm using mostly waves VST plugins, which is why the issue was pretty much consistent.

The last supported waves plugin version is from march 2017. So I'm out of luck.

I'll be needing to buy another suite of vst plugins for any audio work I do in Vegas Pro.

Vegas does not currently support the VST-3 format, so avoid those .. many VST FX plugs and suites include both .. VST-2 and VST-3 formats.

Thanks rraud. Yes, I was using VST2, but even these from WAVES are not supported on Vegas anymore.

Dear sdb,

I have exactly the same problem; audio glitches and gets worse once I edit on the FX interfaces of the Waves plugins. Hugely dissapointing as I recently bought a Vegas 19 license and know I'm faced with audio not working properly. I've tried several things, like switching graphics card (from Nvidia to onboard AMD readon) and different memory/buffer sizes but to no avail. Like with you, when I minimize the FX window, the audio plays much better, still, sometimes glitches, but much less/almost not.

Like Misohoza mentions, I'm now thinking of just editing in another program, finalize the audio there and then put the finalized audio in Vegas to edit the video along with it. Far from ideal.

System: Win 11, AMD Ryzen 5700g, Nvidia GTX 1660S, 16Gb. Vegas 19 Pro, Waves Gold Bundle.

Anyway, just to let you know you're not the only one with this issue.

Re Waves VST plugins, the last Waves version that was compatible with Vegas Pro (and Sound Forge Pro) was version 9.6. From Waves website: https://www.waves.com/support/how-to-find-your-plugins-in-vegas-sound-forge

Just in case your Waves plugins are later than 9.6, that is the possible cause of the problem.
