Audio lag when importing a file

I am starting to have an issue with the audio from video clips lagging when I import media into a file. I have tried trouble shooting with the video files recording on cell phone vs recording on laptop vs recording with microphone/laptop. Running Vegas Pro 17 and Windows 10 on an Alien system. Just a recent issue. The video plays fine until imported.

Video files from smart phone? Files having VFR (variable frame rate) is often mentioned as a cause for erratic PB. Search the VP Video forum for recent comments on this subject.

@rraud Yes videos from smart phone. I am doing a weekly video's interviewing staff, showcasing classes and products for my scuba shop. I may record video on different devices and combine to make a weekly YouTube, FB video. When I import it into Vegas Pro, the audio is off.

VP does not like VFR (variable frame rate) media. Try converting to a 'fixed frame rate' format. HOS (Happy Otter Scripts) or HandBrake are two options to do this..

You may want to include the MediaInfo file data in future comments.

@rraud thank you so much, HandBrake worked! I really appreciate your time and patience with me. All the best!
