Audio Recording Error Vegas Pro 15 Build 361

I have never had audio recording or playback problems....until now. Suddenly I get the error, "An error occurred while recording. The system is low on memory. You may be able to reduce memory usage by closing other applications."

This error is usually followed by, "An error occurred while starting playback. The request is not enabled for this device."

This started happening immediately after upgrading to the latest update Build 361. All of my audio settings remain unchanged from what they always were.

What's strange is when I first add audio files to the timeline, they play back correctly. If I arm a track for recording though, the errors pop up and I can't play back audio either.

Something happened during the update but I can't get to the bottom of it.

For what it's worth, Audacity won't work either. Same error. Windows troubleshooting does not identify or solve this. Any ideas?

What's your setting in Options > Preferences > Audio Device?

Try changing it if you have options, for example from Microsoft Sound Mapper to Windows Classic Wave Driver.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried all of that but get the same results. One day everything was fine, the next day not. I'm stumped.

There was just a big windows10 update. It could have affected your soundcard driver.
