Does VP render the entire length, or does playback stop only in preview?

You stated, it also happens with Wave files. Were did they originate from and are they PCM? I have encountered a few lossy file with the <.wav> extension, but it is a rare occurrence.
Does happen with video files with or without imbedded audio as well?

Hi, I never use video files. It happens in preview as well in rendering the file. I must admit it doesn't happen often but when it happens it's very irritating when your working in a mix and you can't use the track. I even bought a track again to see if it happened again and it did.

Most files i use are mp3 - 320Kbps bought tracks at Beatport.com

No idea what it could be. Maybe you can upload that file to a website where I can download it unharmed to try on my Vegas Pro 16 that worked always pretty normal.

Is the mute automation enabled by mistake? this has happened to me once or twice, is easy to overlook. Disable all automation to check.

Try transcoding the MP3 files to PCM without re-writing the metadata.

Otherwise, a full reset or uninstall/reinstall may be in order.
