Audio Transition Curve Type to Default

How do I reset to the default audio transition curve? Just like in the video transition in the picture.

It started when I changed the audio curve with different fades like the one in the picture in one of my recent project, but until then everytime I create a new project & crossfades audio, it became the default one.

With the focus on the audio track, Vegas Pro will use the last fade type selected for all new audio fades.

Well, that is only applicable to a clip not for succeeding clips in the timeline. This is what happen whenever I started a new project.

That is the way it works. Once you change a fade type for an audio event, it retains it, but when you start on a different audio event it reverts to system default.

So that is my point, I want the default to be use in every new project, but sadly it is not. So, that's why I ask, cause new project just like in the video I uploaded, fresh from Project Media Tab or the Explorer Tab to the timeline does not use curve one.

The default can only be changed in the internal preferences, it's the "eDefEnvAudioASRType" there, e.g. "1" is linear and "4" matches the video default transition envelope.

Thanks @Marco. That really solved my problem.

I'm also interested in this solution, but so far I have been unable to get it to work.

I was able to change the value from "2" to "1" in the internal menu but the default cross fade type did not change when I tried it on an audio event. I was expecting it to be a linear cross fade but it remained unchanged.

I even tried restarting Vegas thinking it may require a restart but that had no effect as well.

Also the only values I have found that I could enter were 1,2,and 4. So far any other whole number values could not be entered.

Ideally I'm trying to set the default cross fade to the one highlighted below, which is an exponential cross fade which tends to be more ideal for audio since the ear has a harder time detecting exponential changes.

How do you apply the crossfade? It works fine for me mouse-dragging one audio event over the other.

That's how I've been doing it as well.

However, I think I may have found why I'm seeing something different. When I originally tried it out, I split an existing audio event, and then mouse dragged them together. When I did that, the default cross fade remained unchanged.

If I placed 2 different audio events onto the same track and then mouse drag those different audio sources together, then I see the linear cross fade being applied like I adjusted in the internal settings.

Still, there only seems to be the ability to select fade types 1,2, or 4 and there's 20 different cross fade types available.

Yes, just noticed it. Only 1, 2 and 4 works both for video and for audio.

I've managed to survive with these settings

I would vote for Magix to expose the crossfade type settings to humans in a future update if they didn't break something that isn't currently broken.
