AUTO PREVIEW acts different with windows 11 and new computer

Peter-Nowinski wrote on 4/8/2023, 2:20 PM

I have transferred Vegas Pro V18 Build 527 from a windows 10 to a window 11 computer. In the windows 10 computer when I click on a media file (in the media window) it would automaticly show up in the preview window. I can go from one media to the next and it always shows up in the preview window which is good. On the windows 11 computer I have to click on auto view  to view the selected media but when I select another media I have to click the auto view again to see that media.  I have a problem there are a lot of bugs with windows 11.  Some times I also see a second preview window come up over the existing window and I have to close one of them. Some times I see the preview window flicker.

Seems to be working fine on my Windows 11 (I tested with VEGAS Pro 20, though).

Just tested again with VEGAS Pro 18 build 527 and it worked fine there too.

What video card and driver are you using on Win 11? I'm not seeing any of these issues.

What's your GPU and CPU model?

Peter-Nowinski wrote on 4/9/2023, 6:31 PM

Well, I figured it out. Apparently I have to click on the actual media and not the outer box that it is in. So I can now see the media in the preview window. Now the issue is that I can only see it for a limited time. I can live with that since the limit is usually longer than I need. But for the record, the GPU is Nvidia GEforce RTX3070. The CPU is Intel Core i7 12700 (1.6GHZ).

With a video clip is the time the duration of the clip?

Peter-Nowinski wrote on 4/9/2023, 8:03 PM

My video clips can be long so I am not sure of that. I just need to see a little of the clip to know what's in the rest of it. A lot of what is do is pictures. I would like them to stay on but apparently they do not. Not with Windows 10 or 11 computer. So I guess it is something I never noticed until using the new computer.

@Peter-Nowinski
Screenshots or screen videos, and also the no. of your graphics card drivers might help.

It's not clear whether you mean the Explorer window or the Project Media window?

Does the same thing happen if you use the Trimmer window rather than the Preview window?

It is the project media window. It is now an non issue since I have discovered that I have to click on the actual media and not the box that it is in. I see this in both W10 and W11. I consider this problem solved. For the record, I never use the trimmer window.
