Automatic Fade In / Fade Out offset

beaverbrook wrote on 6/2/2023, 7:46 PM

Whenever I split a section, it applies an audio fade in and fade out.
I would like to know how to turn the automatic application of this effect off.

Thanks.

I think this is it and why it got enabled when I updated to build 403 I don't know (and didn't appreciate as I first thought I was doing something differently).

@beaverbrook

That's useful to know. But it still forces you to set a minimum of at least "1" as the value.

The '1' value = 1 millisecond (ms). One second = 1,000 milliseconds. One millisecond is 1/40th of a frame in 25 fps; 1/33.33rd of a frame in 30 fps. If setting to 1 ms causes a problem, then there's likely something else that is not working as it should.

A fade has to have a duration, so it is expecting a value other than 0. but you can disable completely using the function that RogerS mentioned.

You are likely to get clicks and pops unless you apply "some" fade.

juan_rios wrote on 6/3/2023, 3:39 PM

Exact. If the cut is not at a zero crossing it will click. The fading is so that does not happen.
