banding with 10 bit between versions 21 and 22

Hey all! I'm reaching out for some direction. I've reached out to Magix several times with no answer. I have versions 21 and 22. When editing with 10-bit in v21, I have no issues with what looks like banding. However, when I use the same project settings in v22, it appears I'm still editing with 8-bit footage. I've attached screenshots of a project to hopefully convey my issues. I'm not sure if I'm missing any settings in the deeper options. Any help is appreciated.

What is the source footage? https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Are you using a LUT to transform it from log to REC709? In the color grading panel or with the LUT Fx? If you have a sample of footage with this issue for download others could test it.

Here's a link to the sample footage: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1kmyFxu85FSY6q5xgGik5UIZXcxccvJ-3?usp=sharing

I'm using multiple LUT's for my color grade. I've attached a video to show you my normal process.

Thanks for this. I did a quick fairly aggressive grade within the CGP starting with an input LUT and then the rest manually. I don't see obvious banding. I'm also in 32-bit full mode with view transform off. One thing to check would be the RGB parade and make sure the red channel isn't starting to clip with this combination of LUTs.

Hi, @casey-johnson!

Do you see banding if, instead of using CGP (remove CGP plugin from plugin chain), you use Vegas' Levels plugin, to bring up/down brightness, gamma, shadows, highs for example?

Hey Adis-s. Thanks for the suggestion! It seems much better for whatever reason. I've attached an image that also has the plug-in chain at the bottom. (REC 709 Conversion - color grade lut - levels - Brightness & contrast - HSL - Color corrector secondary.)

Any logic behind this? Also, project settings are set to 32-bit float - 2.222 video - transform off.

@casey-johnson

I really don't know. Last year I had a "strong" configuration consisting of an i9 13900 and an RTX 4090, and if I used CGP I would have the same result of banding even in 32 bit.
Now I'm using an i3-2120 (surfing, FB, forums etc.) and a GeForce 210 (which Vegas 22 doesn't even register at all) and there's no banding, I guess because Vegas 22 only uses the CPU. It is to be assumed that the "path" through the GPU is broken, but there's also RogerS who says everything works as it should. Strange...

BTW, this is your footage through "my" plugin chain: 2 LUTs and Levels plugin, 32 bit:

FWIW I didn't test any Fx now beyond the CGP for input LUT, exposure and lift/gain, so there may well be an issue with other Fx when stacked. If anyone can share a veg that demonstrates banding with this file it would be easier to replicate and see which Fx is the problem.
