Add a Brightness and Contrast filter or a Color Curve filter to the track or event level and keyframe the changes.

I'm unaware of a tool to do it "automatically", though the folks that shoot time lapse videos have to deal with those issues, so there might be tools like this one.

If you're really a "beginner" at shooting, you should learn to:

  • Lock your shutter speed
  • Lock your Aperture
  • Limit your ISO range

and/or

  • Get a variable ND filter

and/or

  • Stop shooting on "Auto"

"Stop shooting auto"...... is the biggest one. Especially in varying light changes. It also wreaks havoc on white balance to.....

My video has varying brightness, is there a way to automatically adjust it to a certain threshold?
Without cut and opacity change?

Thanks

Thank you @3POINT for pointing that out. I haven't used that VFX for a while so wasn't aware of the Automatic Contrast function. It looks like it was introduced in VP18. I am keen to try it out to see how it performs against the keyframing approach to adjusting contrast and brightness.

Another 👍 on this on @3POINT! I don't have anything to test this on, but would love to know how it works out for you @Dexcon.

@3POINT

I found the "Automatic" Brightness and Contrast first appeared in Vegas Pro 18 when I wasn't looking.

Thank you.

I'm not sure if the free SeMW autolevel FX achieves the same results "on the fly", but probably is also worth trying.
