Just reporting that In attempting to use Boris Title Studio in a Adjustment Event, the latest version consistently crashes 22 when I try to scale the title within Title Studio.
@Gid My guess is that the OP is for Title Studio to get background video in realtime. Adjustment events ensures that TS always gets real-time background video no matter how the track below changes.
@Gid I haven't used BFX TS much but thought I would try here. I attempting everything from within the TS UI. I can't seem to drop TS on a video track as I can with Titles & Text or NBFX Titler so that I why I put it in an Adjustment Event (less distracting to me than dropping it on a video clip). In the TS UI there didn't appear to be a Master Scale so I was trying to set the X & Y scales and the crash would happen once I tried setting the second one (Y). I did try to change font size in the UI but didn't have sucess yet doing that (but no crash either). Seeing your screenshot I did try the master scale there and that did work fine. Knowing that I can retry it all but seems odd to have go back and forth between the TS UI and the effect window (I just haven't worked that yet).

What happens when you do try to drop it on a track?

PS. When I say 'finicky' I mean Adjustment events are still fairly new, when they were first added there were a few issues, I don't know if all of those have been resolved, I get the feeling that TS is fairly old software, Boris keep it working but it's core is a little dated & @sonicvision's PC isn't the newest or most powerful (not as powerful as mine so it's hard to compare) . All these combined could result in unusual behaviour.. just a thought.
@Gid I didn't think to try the Empty event but that is option too. I can drop TS on a track but can't yet get my head around editing titles that way. I did see the Controls window too after and that does work without crashing so that is good. Should anyone, for whatever reason, try adjusting the those separate scale options though they may encounter crash as I did, though after trying all these methods and going back and attempting it again with TS in Adjustment Event (in a otherwise empty test project), it did not crash (though it was consistent doing so in the work project I was in). Thanks for your assistance here.

Interesting about TS being fairly old. I had read some people imply it's better then NewBlue's Titler but that one has been my go to (even though I'm not on it's newest). I know it and can work with it reasonably well but since I have TS I do fire it up once in awhile but usually wind up going back to NewBlue (where as I rarely use NB's fx vs BFX).
@sonicvision I suggest you upload a screen recording video to reproduce that bug so that people can observe the details that you may have missed in your text description.
maybe an Empty event would be better.. 🤷♂️
@Gid Hi, my opinion is that in theory TS+ adjusting events would be better. This allows the TS standalone UI to get other tracks of Vegas timeline as TS' background, which will make it easier for users to adjust Titler in TS UI and use the TS built-in composite mode for better compositing.

@lan-mLMC It seems now I can't replicate the issue. Not sure if all the trying various ways per suggestions above kicked something in BFX or what but it's not doing it now whereas it did it three times before I gave up and post the original post. Perhaps I should delete this whole post?
As for the Adjustment vs Empty events...while the Adjustment one does let me see under layers in the TS UI, it doesn't show them in the Vegas Preview window (why???) whereas Empty Event does let me see in the preview. I believe settings are same for both clips.
You may have forgotten to change the default composite mode.
I haven't yet changed that in any of my uses thus far. I see that for Adjustment event if I change it to 'Normal' then I see below, while for Empty event, just leaving in default 'None' shows me the below video. Is that as expected?

I think so. Empty events and adjust events are completely different. An empty event does not contain any valid pixels. The adjustment event contains the valid pixels of the lower track.
My guess is that, by default, TS converts all valid pixels to a black background; Empty events that do not contain valid pixels are not converted to a black background, but to a transparent background.
don't know if TS's behavior is in line with user habits, but if you have an opinion about the behavior, you can come to the forum and give them suggestions, and you'll usually get a polite response from Continuum officials. https://forum.borisfx.com/c/continuum/23

@lan-mLMC Morning, sorry yeah adjusting events would be better, I was just saying an 'Empty event would be better' to help the OP with the crashing problem, but that problem seems to have cleared up 👍
to get other tracks of Vegas timeline as TS' background
I rarely have to give that any consideration beyond seeing the main video event but I do like Adjustment events for just that, seeing the whole project as seen in VP is good, here I've got a video event + my png logo & all show in TS 👍
@sonicvision Glad you're sorted, I wonder what the problem was, & no don't delete this thread, the problem may have gone away but as with any experiment you don't throw the findings away because of a null result, if that makes sense.

I'd never thought of applying the TS FX to an adjustment event. I've always used an empty event as I don't like applying it to the actual media (for various reasons). Normally it's not a problem with titles as you don't need to see what they are being composited with. Lower thirds is another thing though, I have to guestimate where they should be positioned. Now, with your suggestion, I don't need to. Just goes to show, you're never too old to learn. Thanks.
