BUG: Audio makes popping sounds

John-Rodgers wrote on 12/18/2024, 9:33 PM

Okay so I wanna point out this bug that's been happening to me a lot in VEGAS Pro. At a few certain points in the audio tracks for videos that use mcmp4plug2, there are some random split-millisecond popping sounds that I figure out are from different points of the audio itself. Any solution to this? Seems the mcmp4plug2.dll file is corrupted. I use VEGAS Pro 21.0, and my GPU is a AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT.

I know I'm not supposed to double post, but I figured out they're really clips from the audio that are just less than a second. Here's an example:

Double posting is when a post is posted twice or more in different threads. You've just added more info, it's not a double post.

  1. What is your VP21 build number?
  2. Please post media info on one of your files that have this problem. Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Have you tried a different encode mode or a different encoder all together, the Sony. AVC encoder for instance. Many folks here favor the Voukoder which uses the ffmpeg audio codec.

YEP! My Vegas 22 doing it also. Never did it on the previous dozen versions

Okay, so I re-enabled mxcompoundplug.dll, and it switched from mcmp4plug2 to that. Doesn't seem to be doing the same thing so far. Except it corrupts the video track itself for some files.

Is it possible to share a sample of the media that doesn't work (audio and or video) so we can try to replicate and get it fixed? We don't need anything personal or private, just media taken with the same device with the same settings.
