Bug:Keyframe can't snap correctly to time cursor in Pan/Crop

lan-mLMC wrote on 10/16/2019, 12:25 AM

There is sometimes several keyframes's deviation when I want to move keyframe to time cursor. Link

Similar problem in OFX is: the snap's force is too light so that usually can't snap to time cursor quickly. need to adjust for a long time. LInk

@lan-mLMC - Can't repro. I'm using the "Snap To" when I click on a KF. Working here.

Not clicking a KF. It is Moving a keyframe to time cursor.

@lan-mLMC - What are those Characters or language you're using?

It is an asian charactor language clled kanji.

You have to click the exact keyframe center. In any case you can zooming to refine.

About OFX, time cursor become red when the keyframe you drag is aligned.

What are those Characters or language you're using?

@Grazie Chinese.

I have make a marker at a certain time. And I want to move keyframe to snap to it. Sometimes there is several keyframes's deviation.

Zooming to refine is a loath method. It will better if vegas team fix it.

@Sylk - OK. Then why aren't ALL the words in Chinese? And what are those icons anyway?

@lan-mLMC - Hmm.. I've alsways ADDED a KF at the Time needed. The Marker follows. I don't know your method?

@lan-mLMC - Aplogies if I've misunderstood, but I can't tell if there is anything to fix.

Sometimes people need to adjust a old keyframe to a new positon which marker is in.

Another way; Copy the reference key to move, Paste to cursor position, Delete reference key.

Not a fix to do, just an improvement: adding an option "move key to cursor position" into the context menu.

@Grazie It's the Chinese version of Vegas. Plugins are external BBC so i guess it is not translated. Internal should be translated.

(i notice on mine "lane/curve" aren't translated")

"move key to cursor" and / or "move key to ..." and a manual position entry.

Anyway, if you work with frames spacing ≥ to pixel size, you'll be able to precisely snap every times.

It seems that depending on what your film playback rate is, 23.97 or 25 or 30FPS , and I'm going to guess some sort of Vegas "default" frame rate, there is sometimes a misaglignment and I think this is a longstanding glitch and it needs developer attention. In certain applications of the Pan/Crop it is more critical than others to be dead on the key frame. YMMV, but it you are off the Key frame with the Cursor position, you can, and probably should, slide it, and as someone says, make sure the alignment is dead center or you're not really aligned. So, the tip of the diamond lining up with the cursor. Shouldn't have to be, IMHO, but that is the way it is. Sometimes, again, depending on your use for Pan/Crop it is not going to matter or be critical, and other times, yes, it is.

Also a button to turn the cursor as magnetic mode could be a good way.
