The volume control is there, it's just that the labels are the same color as the background. I randomly clicked where I thought the volume control might be, and got a hit a few times. Then I was able to drag it back and forth. I had animation on and volume envelope showing. As I was dragging left and right, the volume envelope would go up and down.

I can access the master volume envelope on the Vegas 21 (build 187) by opening the 'Audio Bus Tracks' (View menu or the "B" key shortcut). Right-click the master header and choose the desired envelope(s). The 'V' key will also will show/hide the envelope.

Yup. There are workarounds to this clear bug, which include

1. Inserting track envelopes on the affected bus tracks, and adjusting on the track body
2. Open the mixing console and adjust there

@RedRob-CandlelightProdctns, thanks for the report. The Volume slider is still there, but the UI is missing (as you've pointed out). If you point just to the left of the Automation button, you can find the ToolTip. When that appears, you know you are pointing to the volume "lane". If you click it, it will adjust the volume. If you happen to be pointing to the Volume fader itself, you can drag it to adjust the volume as if it were visible. You can watch the fader in the Master Bus window as it moves in reaction to your adjustments. Obviously, a workaround, but it does work. We'll look for a proper fix. Thanks.

Thanks for the acknowledgement.. no rush on the fix.. I presume it's an easy one to get in the next release.

I've applied for a copyright on "ghost slider" just in case anyone was getting any ideas. I leave it to the team to prioritize and determine whether it's an "easy fix" or not!

@RedRob-CandlelightProdctns, one of our beta testers was looking at this and pointed out a really valuable find. Once you are pointing at the fader lane (you'll know when you see the ToolTip), you can use the mouse wheel to adjust the volume regardless of whether you're actually pointing to the fader or not (this is a handy shortcut for all faders that you may not have known). The Ctrl modifier also works for fine adjustments. This then makes the "ghost slider" actually still quite usable since you don't have to hunt around for the exact location of the fader itself. And, for what it's worth, the text field is also still available. Double click toward the left of the fader lane and you'll get the text entry field where you can input an exact value if you'd like to.
