Build 403 Explorer Issues, Match Media not Remembering

ALO wrote on 5/9/2023, 5:21 PM

When I select multiple files in the Vegas explorer window and drag onto the timeline, only the first file in the group gets added to the project.

Also, every time I start the program it asks me again if I want to match project settings to the added file, even though I check the "remember" box

This is a known issue which should be fixed in a future version. In the meantime you can drag the files with the RIGHT mouse button and then choose "Add Across Time" (or another option).

Also, every time I start the program it asks me again if I want to match project settings to the added file, even though I check the "remember" box

The 7th item in Options > Preferences > General should be unchecked ("Prompt to adjust project settings to match first media added to timeline").

Or, you can click on the first one and then SHIFT-CLICK-AND-DRAG the last one.

Not to highjack this post, but there seems to be a lot more wrong with the explorer code in build 403:

I have noticed strange things going on in the explorer window for several versions now, but with Vegas you've got to choose your battles...

Take the Windows explorer Window instead - just another possibility.

@bitman  I've had issues with the Explorer Window ever since I moved to 20 from a previous version. (17 maybe?). When clicking on a folder name it often take up to a full minute to display the contents of the folder. In my case, I'm only dealing with audio files: dialog, sfx, etc. Sure some of my folder have hundreds of files in them, but today when clicking on the project folder which only has 3 folders and 3 files, it still took 30 seconds to show anything and for the system to respond (the system just stops functioning during this time). Dunno if this is the proper forum to report this (I'd reported it a few times in the past 2 updates btw and they did acknowledge this issue).

btw I"m on 403.
