I didn't see any forum anywhere that discusses cameras so hopefully one of you Vegas pals out there might give me some advice. My camera is a low budget ($700 at the time of purchase in 2000) TRV-18. I just tried to capture the video from two customer provided tapes and every now and then I'd check the monitor to see what he gave me (filmage from Hawaii) and I noticed a fluttering in the video and audio. The tape ended, I rewound the tape and when I pulled it out of the TRV-18 there was a little tape out of the case. I got a "dropped frames" message which certainly makes sense. I think I fixed it the tape (I hope I didn't screw it up) and then tried his other tape. Right from the start it was fluttering so I stopped it and rewound and found the same scenario. I have noticed this lately with my tapes sometimes, not always. Is my camera shot? Are there any recommended fixes? Can anyone recommend a repair shop to send it to or should I start shopping for a new camera?
