Thanks from me too, I think!
Between this and the free Antics, it's a good thing they are free. The non paying time I could spend learning them could cost one a bundle of cash. Now I should get back to learning Bryce, PI and Truespace that I also got for free.

Haven't tried it but it APPEARS that the older version of SNAGIT may be free too

The same key is used for all registrations.

1. Install the cover mount disc that includes SnagIt 7.2.5
2. Select SnagIt from the list of programs
3. A SnagIt Message Center window will open. Select Unlock.
4. An Enter Software Key window will open. Type in your name and
software key:

Real World experience being sought here: Anybody got this FREE Camtasia s/w up and running? Is it working well?

Read the comments on that link for Snagit and beware. Sounds like they might be playing games with the version numbers.

For still screen captures I've just installed the free, open-source and very lightweight ZScreen and so far I love it. It can even automate FTP uploads if you want.

Is this version only for XP users? Anyone try this on Vista?
blink3times wrote on 12/11/2007, 4:05 PM
I'm using it on Vista Ultimate 64.

I have seen no problems so far.

I thank you for this too. I will barely use it, I was too cheap to buy it. It will come in handy, occasionally.
The Flash options do look tempting and may convince me to purchase it, down the road. This may have been a smart move for them.

Thanks blink3times ! I've installed this and it works beautifully. I've been using the screencapture in my copy of SnagIt, but that's not what it was really designed for (8fps max).

I've often mused about Camtasia, but have never wanted to lay down $300.

But I do like this sort of marketing. Give'm something free, shortcircuit the warez market, and maybe you'll covert a reasonable percentage onto the paid version.
