Can i AutoDelete after Cutting Fragment?

rawstep-v wrote on 11/5/2023, 12:21 AM

I just saw a Youtuber who did this and I was amazed, it could save me hours of work and I would like to know if it is a Vegas configuration or a plugin, does anyone know anything about it? Cutting 2 sections of the video and deleting it manually is very tedious when you have to make hundreds of cuts. The video in question (from minute 1:55 you can see what I am referring to)

At 01:55 and onwards, it looks like he's simply cutting out sections of the media on the timeline and has auto-ripple enabled which causes the timeline to butt up when a section is deleted (or trimmed for that matter).

Auito-Ripple is one of the buttons on the Timeline Toolbar just below the timeline. Unless there's a particular reason to use another Auto-Ripple setting (via the little arrow just to the right of the button, it's probably best to select the 'All Tracks, Markers and Regions' setting so that everything on the timeline ripples.

@rawstep-v Hi @Dexcon beat me to it, the options for trimming & auto ripple are at the bottom, if you hover the cursor over them it'll show you the shortcut keys

Might be better to learn the keyboard shortcuts, I've changed Trim start / end to A & D, S splits the clip. there's other keyboard shortcuts that make it easy to move from one clip to the other key [ & key ], then just delete..

Only workable on US/UK-keyboard...I also prefer to change those keyboard shortcuts like @Former user does, the A,S,D keys, a habit from my Pinnacle time some 20 years ago.

Does nothing on my keyboard/Vegas, just the single key [ & ] with no Alt works.
