I’ve not updated from V19 because I can’t justify the expenditure and am unlikely to gain anything given my use of Vegas as a pretty simple editor, using few of the bells and whistles.
But I’ve been struggling for many months trying to achieve a decent render that will play smoothly on my Samsung QLED TV and/or the cheapish “MYPIN” video player I bought on Amazon.
Much of the video I edit is from our travels and a lot of it is taken in the car. Trying to render to MP4, using Magix AVC or HEVC achieves poor results. Motion is skippy. Cars coming towards us skip the closer they get, and video taken from the side is pretty jumpy too. Both means of playback show beautiful steady and clear video from the original MTS files from my camera.
So I tried loading the edited clips (by copying and pasting) from my V19 window into the the timeline in v13 of Vegas Pro. There I could render using the Main Concept AVC/AAC template that matched my project settings (set from the original camera clips). This is the Blu-ray 1920x1080-50i 25 Mbs video stream. The resulting .avc file plays back beautifully on my video player. Just what I’ve been trying to achieve for ages mucking about with different settings in the MAGIX templates.
I have since found I can make the Main Concept redner option appear in my v19 of Vegas Pro with a hidden setting in options. A test render, using the same Main Concept AVC/AAC template, again produced some fine video on playback on the TV.
Now I have to add the soundtrack, and this is where I’m asking for help. In the past, I’ve used Shutter Encoder to “replace audio” but it doesn’t recognise or won’t work with the video file. So I can’t combine the .avc (even if renamed to .mpg) file with the AC3 file I rendered separately.
I’m so frustrated that I’m nearly there, but have fallen at the last hurdle. It’s a shame that Main Concept won’t render the audio at the same time as the video!
Any help gratefully received. This has been driving me bananas.
