Can't edit subtitles in DVDA 5.2?

I'm doing subtitles for a self-promotions disc I'm working on but I can't seem to edit the subtitles in DVDA, I need to edit them outside DVDA. Is this normal? The manual suggests I can hit F2 to edit the subtitle text but it never works.

I tried downloading DVD6 but it appears it's Vista & newer only, but I could of sworn when it came out it was XP too, so I don't know if that one lets you edit subtitles.

I haven't used subtitles for a couple of years, but something didn't sound right. so I opened a recent project, added the subtitle track, added a subtitle, and... I can't edit the text either.

Could someone else verify that editing subtitle text on the DVDA timeline does not, in fact, work?

I created a DVDA project in 5.2, added a subtitle track and was able to edit the text by right-clicking on the subtitle event and selecting "Edit Text" on the context sensitive right-click menu.

I right click on the subtitle event, select "edit text" and it doesn't do anything. No window pops up, can't edit anything in the preview window. :?
