Can't open final cut pro exported mp4 videos in Vegas pro.

I cooperate with another studio for producing a video. They have sent me an mp4 exported from Final cut pro and when I import it in our studio's Vegas 14 I can only read the audio track. After contacting them they say their file is fine and it's my problem. I've recalled all factory settings in my Vegas pro and still can't see the video track. What could be the problem?

I was hoping someone more knowledgeable than me might have jumped in on this. But anyway my comments:

Obviously VP is having a problem with the codec used. Try converting with Handbrake and you should have no problems with the converted file.

The mp4 file you have received is 1920x1080 with a video bitrate of 9,967 kb/s. Somewhat on the low side if you wish to maintain good quality between studios.

In addition to EricLNZ comments, it am surprised they are using 44.1khz audio with video. The standard is 48k . 44.1 is used to music and cds normally.

You're working with someone else on this video and the material they are sending you is only 1080p at 10mbps? That's pretty low quality to send to be re-edited. You should ask them to export it as a prores file and send you that instead.
