Hi Nick, thanks for replying.   Yes, I have checked the scroll bars.   Now a new problem.  Vegas was crashing every time I rendered a video saying memory issues.  I worked with Microsoft Support for 7 hours last two days.  They increased virtual memory, then repaired my Windows 7  (took 6 hours).  I tried Vegas rendering again, and this time got a new error message:  "An error occured while creating the media file.  Exception thrown by method called        "     (it did not say what it was called).    Have you heard of this, or know any way to fix these issues?  Microsoft asked if Vegas had a software patch for these.

The best practice is to have images from your system partition. If such a case happens, you playback the last image that has worked and you are fine again. 

I do not think that you will find a solution for that issue (but I can be wrong). Maybe the best idea is to install the whole system new. And then I would invest the time and money to use tools like Trueimage to avoid that in future. 

Hello again.  Thank you for your suggestions.  I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Vegas Pro 13, same issue.  I tried opening .veg files from my internal hard drive and also from an external hard drive.  I can open them from my external hard drive, and get this error.  When I try to open them from my internal drive it won't open at all.  So you may be right about partition issues, but the fact that I get the error when opening from a separate drive seems to indicate that something is buggy in the software or how it is relating to Windows 7.    I was able to open these same files before the Windows repair, and now this new issue.   I am totally shut down from doing my work because of this.    Is there any solution?  Do you think support people from Magix will or can help me?   Thank you again.

If you are dragging it to the timeline, you are "nesting" the project. Two options, use File -Open instead or right-click and drag and choose the option to open the project.

I had the same issue with 13 after doing a Windows 10 install.  Veg. files would only open using File-Open.  I couldn't click and open a file from the hard drive.  Uninstalling/reinstalling Vegas (and DVD Architect) solved the issue.

Thank you for your comments.  To jetdv - I have been using File-Open to open my VEG files.  What I have found is that when I open them from my external hard drive they open OK.  When I open them from my internal C drive they don't open.  To videone2 - I have uninstalled/reinstalled Vegas Pro, and it did not solve the issue.   Main issue - it always crashes during rendering.  I will post the error messages here that I have been getting.

My biggest question - is there any resource available anywhere to get a qualified technician for Sony Vegas Pro 13 to work with me individually to resolve this?  I have lost most of a week of work, and am desperate for a solution other than buying a new software editing program and starting over from scratch.

I don't believe so. At the moment the best you can do is to make a support request at https://support2.magix.com/customer/en/request  (that's a shortcut to the area for submitting support requests related to the products formerly owned by Sony Creative Software). I have submitted 2 or 3 support requests through that page and have had a pretty quick response.

A google search for sony vegas "exception thrown by method called" throws up lots of hits including this thread.
