Cannot Hear Audio After Certain Time

sam-sheep wrote on 9/29/2016, 6:41 PM

My Vegas is working great for everything except for the fact that one of my projects won't play audio after a certain time in the video. My audio has waveforms, and correct ones at that, but just doesn't play the audio. Let me know if you have any idea of what might be going on. My audio also works only at the beginning, then I have text with no audio if that helps. Thanks in advance!

Is any of the audio in an MP3 format?

The project probably a bit 'heavy', especially on the video. Almost like your computer 'get tired / can't keep up' with the processing / computing requirement on the video side, and that affected the audio playback. Multiple video files on the same storage drive can also become one cause. Usually after stop/pause the playback, start in the middle of timeline, the audio from that position will appear again.

What is the format of Video? is the audio also coming from video file? if it is the separate audio, is it MP3 or WAV format?

I have a video where I deleted an audio track, but still have one, which is from an mp4 video.

My video is mp4, and the audio came from that. Also, I have my files seperate from each other, and my Computer's specs include: AMD Radeon R9 380, an Intel Core i7 4790k, 16 gb of ram, 2 HDD's, and a 500 watt PSU. Also, it happens after exactly 5 seconds in the timeline. No matter what I put as the audio, or what track. (My proj. is 60fps)

If you post a link to a sample (e.g. on Dropbox "Public" folder) I can check it in my VP10/12/13/14 etc.. It would also be useful to see the MediaInfo report on the file (see #6 in this post: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/why-does-my-rendered-video-look-bad-quality-troubleshooting-basics--103361/ )

I have Vegas Pro 12, and it works fine on that. But, it only started screwing up the audio after I did a few edits, and the base file works fine. Alos, it was recorded into an mp4 with OBS, if you were wondering, with two audio tracks.

Also, do you want my project settings? Or my history (I might not be able to get it)? Also, I am going to post the MediaInfo screenshot.

I have done a couple of OBS captures and the audio played OK, but I didn't do any editing of it. If the problem only occurs after you do some edits, try rendering the audio to Microsoft Wave and then putting that back on the timeline to edit instead of the original. It would be lossless. Here's what you could do if you had made a mono recording of your voice for example. Change it to stereo if you want stereo.

Will do!

OBS should be no issue...

I forgot to mention; I am using bluetooth headphones, and the audio track still shows the correct levels.  At this point, I cannot hear the audio; also, check my settings if something is wrong.

sam-sheep wrote on 10/1/2016, 8:34 AM

I tried to export to wav, but it still cut off at the same time.

sam-sheep wrote on 10/1/2016, 8:36 AM

Also, I can play the video just fine outside of Vegas.

Very difficult to see what's happening with that strange windows layout. Show more of the timeline. You could also post zip the .veg file and the media and share a link to it, for example on Dropbox "Public" folder so others can test it.

Sorry, I edited that to make the windows closer. But, I only thought it was curious that the levels on the left were changing, and the video was playing, while the audio was not. Also, I will post my file.

NickHope wrote on 10/1/2016, 9:46 AM

Can you make that public? I have requested access.

sam-sheep wrote on 10/1/2016, 9:52 AM

I think I forgot to change the media files to the folder, but I know you can still change them.

The master audio in your project is muted. Go View > Window > Mixing Console . See the little "M" with a cog next to it in the Master section. Click it to unmute. Please let us know if this fixes your problem.

Thank you so much! I feel like an idiot, but Thanks!
