Google "C-Log to rec709 LUT", download a LUT, and apply that to the footage in the new VEGAS LUT Filter FX and see what it gives you. Get your Vegas video scopes open and study the levels, especially the black and white levels on your waveform. Then you could look for LUTs that adjust your C-Log footage in other ways, or you could do color correction in Vegas after or instead of using that LUT, for example using the Color Curves FX.

This is worth a read, although it pre-dates VP15 and the new LUT filter: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/any-lut-support--103870/

The most superior workflow in Vegas Pro 15 would be the usage of the new implemented ACES 1.0.3 workflow. And there are a lot of c-log templates available and foreseen, in this workflow. So I would test that.

The two questions are only: do you edit 8bit or 10/12 bit footage? Because for 8bit LUTs could be enough, even if the calculation methods of ACES would be superior. And the second question is, if you run a PC that is powerfull enough (ACES works in the 32bit Floating Point mode only, and takes a lot of performance).

There is a tutorial about ACES 1.0, but unfortunately it is in German.
