If you close the file, and re-open, the black may be gone....this happened to me alot. with Vegas 11..
The tip that has helped the most for me, was to get rid of all clips in the media bin that are not in the timeline, and anything on the timeline I don't need ( clips I would have slid way over), I get rid of. There is a remove unused clips icon.
Amazing the change this had on the black problem.

I think I will wait for sony to fix this rather than a patch. Too much work to be any more of an experiment on this end. Customers need product now. ; )

I don't think you understand. There was a bug in the Cineform software that was not Sony's fault. This patch fixes that Cineform bug. The next Cineform version release will also fix this. In this case there is no "waiting for Sony to fix this".
