Combining special effects into templates.

Is this possible? I know you can create and import subprojects into your timeline, but I just want to take a commonly used effect like a lower third text box with a given font and a fade in and fade out effect, and turn that into something I can just add to the timeline of new projects, set the text, and go.

In this case subprojects won't work because if you edit the subproject to change the text it changes the text for all instances of the subproject.

I'm thinking this should be fairly simple today and I'm missing something obvious, but if so I'm looking in the wrong places because I can't find anything.

Thanks in advance...

I have it, actually. Still trying to get my head around how to use it. Seems like every time I open it it adds another title to the collection that I can't figure out how to get rid of, and, at least in Vegas 15, they all play overlapped.

I'm a noob at this and lots to learn...

You could just copy and rename a new "subproject" to nest each time, so that changes don't affect all projects. Project files are generally pretty small files.

Or you could literally copy and paste events from your subproject into your new project and then change the text only in that new project. You need 2 instances of Vegas open to do that.

I know I'm being a "smarty pants" because that's how I do it on a regular basis.... but...

Single event, drag/droppable from the presets window to the Vegas TL.
