BB: "I'm use to in your face, toe to toe "discussions" "

Well said BB - did you ever consider that others prefer discussions void of slurs and antaganisms? Void of infectious remarks without merit or proffetionalism? But rather discussions with the intent to share and share alike within the boundies of mutual respect? Honestly I don't see Spot showing you any disrepect.

Why are you so proud of being pissed off?

It's NOT a merit, my friend.

"Geez... how many of you can kiss Spot's butt at the same time?"

Wow, that's pretty humorous to me, because as I was reading this thread that's exactly what came to my mind. It seems like BB questioned DSE's opinion and here come a bunch of hulligans running to his defense. I thought spot was an adult and would be able to handle his own defense in a discussion? I think BB brought up a valid point, because exactly what he mentioned I've heard Spot say you have to have these things. I understand DSE's response and it seems valid.....I didn't understand the name calling, and the rehashing of the Walmart/Kmart monitor comparison, that he tends to throw in BB's face, so maybe he isn't an adult. People please look at yourselves. You're acusing BB of being a thread craper and trolling, but his discussion is actually on topic and you're posts have nothing to do with the discussion at hand. Look at all the noise you're making. Will these personal arguments ever stop.? EVERY monitor question that comes into this forum is filled with nothing but [expletive deleted] replies. You know, I read these monitor threads because I WANT to learn the needs for an external monitor. Will you children ever Grow the [expletive deleted] up?!!! You're all a bunch of [expletive deleted] [expletive deleted] and I'm [expletive deleted] tired of it!!!! If you can't add anything constructive to the conversation then, shut the [expletive deleted] up!!!! I'm through with this forum, there's nothing but a bunch of children in here that can't act like adults. I'm going to the Avid forums, to learn about video editing. I heard that's where the professionals hang out and I heard that's the tool that professionals use. I didn't think that was the case, but now that I've been visiting the Vegas Video forum more often, this point is definately true, because I see no professionals in this Vegas Video forum.

Dear kdi001,
the Production Monitor you have is perhaps a bit small for getting a really good look at your video. It's intended use is in the field not the studio.
However as it's what you've got at the moment your best option is to connect the S-Video output of the ADVC-300 to the monitor and use it as the Vegas external preview monitor.
The S-Video connection gives you somewhat better chroma bandwidth than a composite connection although on a 9" monitor you may not notice the difference.
Hope this helps, sorry it's taken so long for you to get an answer.
Bob.
