Constant Crashing

Landon-Jensen wrote on 9/14/2024, 11:29 AM

I've just upgraded from Vegas 18 to Vegas 22. I thought upgrading would reduce the amount of crashes I'd get but its happening just as much. It randomly crashes at times and more specifically, sometimes it crashes when the timeline is playing and I hit undo.

Information:

Windows 10

vegas pro 22 (122)

Nvidia 3070

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X

32GB ram

What does show problem details in the error reporter say? Please copy and paste it in here.

What type of media do you mostly work with?

Im using media recorded in obs 60fps 24000 bitrate no proxies

Likely the cause. What format settings in OBS? MP4? Often times tweaking these settings can fix the issue.

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

Yeah it's MP4. Is there a better file format I can use thats more stable. I'd like to keep 60 fps and a 24-bitrate.

There's a free app called mediainfo... download it and run it on one of those clips, then post the report it gives here. That will give us the clues we need to know how to tell you the best way to configure the settings.

When it crashes it has a box that is a problem reporter and if you click "show problem details" it will say what crashed.

For OBS can you specify exactly what settings you used?

MediaInfo doesn't show too much- 8-bit AVC 1440p60.

For OBS try changing the keyframe interval from 0 to 1. Not sure if that will make a difference for stability but should help with performance.
