I use a Contour Shuttle Pro for audio editing. Been using it problem free in Vegas 6 for years. Want to upgrade to 18 but when I get a little ahead of the current time line Vegas freezes up. Thoughts?
I had a problem with 4K footage from my AX 53 Vegas Pro 18 freezing if I scrolled too fast across the timeline with the Contour Shuttle.
Using proxies solved the problem.
Similarly, I have no problems when using HD footage from the same camera.
What media files are you using and what hardware are you using?

Hi Walter, I added my set up to my signature. I'm not sure what using proxies means? I am a voice guy so most editing is .wav or .mp3
Proxies are reduced video files that allow to keep the preview liquid.
Then that's not relevant to you.
I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with sound editing - maybe there's someone else who knows more about it.

If you want to upgrade to Vegas Pro 18, test the version beforehand and check if your PC meets the minimum requirements.

Did you try using a different audio driver in Options/Preferences/Audio Device?
