Could not access network location

I've downloaded my Sony software many times over the years and not run into this problem. I have a new computer with Windows 10 and am receiving this error when I try to install Vegas Pro 12:

ERROR: -2147163964 occurred during installation

Could not access network location e:Documents\.

I've tried rebooting, and I've tried re-downloading the installation file, and I continue to get this error. I'm not sure what to try next?

Is E:\Documents\ there and does your account have permission to write to it?

I had a similar problem when I upgraded to Windows 10. In my case clearing and resetting access rights to the offending folder fixed it.
