Crash when using plugins Boris FX for VEGAS 21

Nera wrote on 1/29/2024, 8:56 AM

Plugin version Boris FX Continuum Plug-ins 2023 v16.0.3.1086
Vegas version 21.208.
Problem when using Beat Reactor in the BCC+ Light Flicker and BCC+ Video Glitch plugins.
A crash occurs when exporting an audio file in AIFF format.
I haven’t checked all the plugins, but only in BCC Jitter Classic the reactor works normally.
If anyone has encountered this,
What versions of Vegas did you use and how did you fix it?

@Nera Got to ask- that's two issues?

The main issue is -

Problem when using Beat Reactor....?

And

A crash occurs when exporting an audio file in AIFF format.

How are these two related & what is the problem with each?

@Former user Maybe I didn’t express myself very clearly, I’ll try to explain in more detail what the problem is.
I apply BCC+ Video Glitch to my video track and want the Glitch effect to be in rhythm with the music, for this I open the Beat Reactor tab in the BCC+ Video Glitch plugin itself (having previously prepared the AIFF file),
I click on Select Audio and when I select an AIFF file the program crashes.

You might try a .wav file and see if you get the same issue.

I have Continuum 2024 and just tried it with a WAV file and it worked in VP21 with no crash. Created the AIFF file in Vegas and tried that also, and no crash.

Did not help...
I tried it on different versions up to 18, but Beat reactor doesn’t work anywhere

Is it possible that the problem is in my hardware?
I have a weak laptop: 1050, i5-8200h, 16gb ram, win 10

Also on other resources, I found information that it is possible that such failures may be due to the fact that files from previous versions of the programs remain.
I cleaned all the files of previous versions in the registry using regedit, but to no avail.
Does it make sense to reinstall Windows?

Does a reset of VEGAS help?

You shouldn't have to reinstall Windows and your hardware should be suitable for this.

I would post this in the Boris FX forum and see if the support people there can offer you a suggest.

Did you update the software as suggested above?

And yes, Continuum 2023 will only work with AIFF sound files. It worked for me just fine with the beat reactor and video glitch effect. But my PC is more powerful than her laptop, and even then, playback wasn't smooth.

But again, go to the Boris FX forum, post, and always, Boris people reply....

Clarification: The Beat Reactor in BCC+ filters supports AIF, WAV, and MP3, but the regular BCC filters only support AIF.

Video glitch is one of the type of fxs that is very likely to crash my Vegas, I tried the other day with BCC+ Video Glitch on a .mov ProRes, when i added a music file (AIFF i think it was) it crashed, it was a very brief trial & I didn't stop to try it again, Vegas crashed 'again' & i was busy doing other stuff so I just left it be.
