I won’t comment on scene detection, but your “set designer” could reduce the wattage of the lamp behind the subject. The subject is well exposed, but the background is blown out unnecessarily.

i am not getting ur point completely sir but i think it should split clip as per its original clip properties considering its effects and zooming with it.

Much of the wall is clipped.

Reducing the amount of light from the lamp would leave more detail in the background and would have little or no effect on the subject. I understand if this was shot without having the ability to influence the lighting. We all have to deal with those situations.

Sometimes, changing the shooting angle makes a big difference if you can't change anything else.

Oh i got u know... u r talking about over exposure. i know about that. but that is not my fault my client sent me this.

when i run this option on clip as per its original resolution then it

works but not when project settings are not same with clip.

I get 6 clips in Vegas with 1920x1080 and 1080x1920.

I get 7 clips in Resolve doing the same.

I am not re-framing anything for 1080x1920

The reason why Vegas may not work as well is because the scene detector is not seeing the video in full quality, it's viewing in quality 'good' and at 1/4 resolution. Resolve may see the clips in full resolution or higher resolution .

Note that I'm assuming scene detection works by looking at the actual difference between frame images rather than file structure.

@lan-mLMC can u try to reproduce this error?
