Did Vegas Pro 20 360 kill my NewBlue Titler Pro 6?

I try to add NewBlue Titler into a project. In the Media generators tab I find NewBlue Titler Pro 7, but I actually don't own that. I have Titler Pro 6 since a few years. Well, I can drag that 7 into the timeline and it becomes an event complete with a basic title. However I can't open it to edit the contents. Clicking on Open Titler Pro leads to nothing. Checking the PC's installed programs list in the Control Panel NewBlue Titler Pro is not installed at all in any form. I have filters etc but not Titler Pro. I do however have NB Live2Post and NewBlue Vegas Stream, both installed with the new Vegas 20 last month. But no Titler.

Any suggestion as to what has happened?

I reinstalled NB TP6 now and it works in VP20, but Vegas says it is Titler Pro 7....

It sounds like you installed Live2Post which includes an extremely stripped down version of Titler Pro 7 to allow importing projects from VEGAS Stream that included titles.

My suggestion:

  1. Reboot
  2. Uninstall Live2Post
  3. Install Titler Pro 6
  4. Clear your cache in VEGAS

@Martin L That's another alternative. To get it to read Titler Pro 6 again, you'll need my step 4 above - clear the cache in VEGAS.

Ah, good. Thanks!

6 months later: I moved and haven't done any editing for a few months. Finally set up my gear in the new house and started up Vegas for some upcoming jobs now. Vegas opens fine, but not NB Titler 6. It's there, and I reinstalled it and rebooted, but no Titler. In Taskmanager it shows up though as if it was working.

If I try to load a Vegas project containing NB Titler titles the projects gets stuck at 79% and never continues.

Martin, contact NewBlue support. It sounds like you need to do a clean install.

Ok, I'm in contact with NB support now.

It's mid april and still NB Titler isn't working. I followed NewBlue support's suggestions on clean install and reinstalling, it didn't work. I even tried with Titler 7 trial and with the same results. NB support now says, "It looks like this is related to a known bug some of our VEGAS users are experiencing. So, for now I'm going to place your ticket on hold and escalate it to our development team.  I know our development team is working on getting this squared away and along with other Video Editing software.  Once there is a bugfix or update you'll be notified along with instructions and a download link.  I'm sorry for the inconveneince but I also really appreciate your patience."

That is very kind of NB support, they are working on it. However, I'm on hold. Is there anyone here who figured out a way to make NB Titler 6 or 7 work with Vegas Pro 360 latest build? (See above, I had problems with it back in september. A clean install fixed it then, but not now)

Here's the full "clean install" instructions are (Please note it is possible that some folders/files are NOT on your system):

  1. Reboot your computer
  2. Uninstall all versions of Titler currently on your system
  3. Go to C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX and make sure Titler is removed
  4. Go to C:\Program Files\NewBlue and make sure the folder NewBlue Titler Pro 2.0 for Windows is removed
  5. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\NewBlue and make sure the folder TitlerPro.ofx.bundle is removed
  6. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\NewBlueFX and make sure the folder TitlerPro2.ofx.bundle is removed
  7. Re-install Titler Pro

Additionally, this might be helpful as well (would need to be done before step 7 above) but you may need to reinstall other/all NewBlue products already installed...

  1. Click Start and type Regedit, then run the app
  2. Within Regedit, look under HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE, right-click NewBlue and select Delete
  3. Next look under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE, right click NewBlue and select Delete

Yeah, I did all of that already. Didn't help. Thanks anyways. Guess I just have to wait for NB to fix the bug. Does NB Titler work for you guys within Vegas Pro 360 latest build?
