Hi,
I've been having a difficult time previewing my video in Vegas Pro 15. I've tried doing the Dynamic Ram Preview, by hitting shift + b, but that's not working anymore after I've added a Red Giant effect. My video is about 1 minute and 15 secs long. Not much going on. Just some video footage with text added in Vegas. I nested the project so I could add my Red Giant effect to the entire video.
More details below:
Before I added the effect, I tried the methods used in this video and it worked for a little bit: he takes forever to get to the point - so if you want to actually see what he does in this video, skip to 1:18).
Then I kept seeing people say to hit Shift + B for a Dynamic Ram Preview.
I did that, and it worked pretty well. But the problem is that it would only show me a smooth preview at the actual speed of the video in little chunks.
I would have to highlight the remaining portion of the video that Vegas wasn't able to preview. Then when I hit Shift + B again, it would only preview a small part of the video once again (about 2 seconds) every time I hit shift + b.
Then I would repeat this process until I have seen the entire video, in little 2 second chunks that vegas was able to show me a preview for at pretty much at its actual speed.
This was all before I added any FX to the video.
Now I've added Red Giant Universe VHS effect, and I'm lucky if I can even get 2 seconds of the Dynamic Ram Preview at all after hitting shift + B.
I understand that adding the FX can make the preview much slower. And that my PC specs also play a part in the slow preview. But I'm hoping any of you know any tips or tricks I can use to actually have a smooth preview of my video. And it would be nice to playback the entire video at once at its actual speed, and not having to play back the video in the little chunks that vegas is able to preview.
