Yes, but the tiny piccies may be body of face parts that you need to place accurately anyway when animating. No problem it's part of the art. But having to reduce every 'piccie' down to its true size before accurately placing them is a pain.

Agreed. But our friend here has over 💯 to do!

I've been thinking about this further in respect of animation. If I was doing serious animation a work around would be to prepare all your characters and their parts etc in a drawing or imaging programme with a canvas size equal to your project resolution e.g.1920x1080. Then export as transparent png. Then when you import this into Vegas Pro or VMS you would get what you want. The object can then be positioned accurately by moving the crop box. The crop box can even be moved off screen if required.

It doesn't help our friend with his problem though. But possibly he could use Irfanviews Batch conversion to re-export all his images with the required canvas size. A quick play around indicates this can be done.

Yes, IrfanView was what I was thinking too. And yes, it would not help our friend here as he’d also need to orientate/adjust each and every one of those 💯.

This probably won't get you to the promised land, but it'll get you a few feet down the road.

@john_dennis: Yes, nice. Are those same sized CD covers? Our friend here has 💯 different sized piccies.

I'm still eagerly wanting to know just what the final desired outcome is wished for. So far it's us coming up with Process solutions. I'm about the Outcome, and consequently there maybe another/alternative creative way around this bowl of spaghetti.

“Are those same sized CD covers?”

Album art resized for my high resolution music player. They are close to the same size, but not exactly. It just happened to be a folder that I practiced on when I was working on resizing them.

@shersh

Just wrote a very simple app that may do what you want. As an example, here's a 60px image imported into Vegas.

Here's the same image when overlaid onto a 1920 x 1080 transparency.

Now using pan/crop you can move that image anywhere you want. E.g.

And finally, here's the GUI for the app.

Simply enter your project dimensions, the folder containing your tiny images, and the folder where they are to be saved.

If you're still interested, I'll upload the app to Dropbox and post a link.
