Disappearing Video - especially after render.

Tom-Reid wrote on 4/14/2021, 3:30 PM

I'm using Vegas Pro 15 on a Windows 10 64-bit computer with 32gB ram and i7 Intel processor. I also have a 6gB NVideo card for graphic acceleration. When I try to render my own music videos (typically 3 mins long) the video disappears from the render at some point when I playback the rendered file. I also have problems with the video disappearing when I I am editing. The files are simple - usually one audio track that I have premixed, video track and a title track with maybe a couple of transitions at most.

I have been using Filmora X and getting better results but I feel like I should be using Vegas Pro 15 since it cast me over £200 to purchase.

I'm becoming very frustrated and disillusioned with Vegas Pro 15.

Can you share a screenshot of your render settings?

Which GPU is it? If it supports the NVIDIA Studio driver, try that. You might also try setting dynamic ram preview to 0MB before the render if you use NVENC.

Thanks for your reply. My dynamic ram preview is presently set at default of 200MB. I have tried using various render settings but the latest one I am using, with the best success, is MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 and I'm rendering at INTERNET HD 1080p 29.97 fps (NVIDIA/NVENC).

I should also mention that the video also blanks out from time to time when playing in preview mode (without trying to render).

Any help is appreciated.

For NVENC in VP 15, set dynamic ram preview to 0 and turn off GPU acceleration in preferences and it should work for renders.

I recommend the Studio driver for stability.

Thanks for that advice. I'll try that.

Typical newbie comment - What is the Studio driver and where do I find it?

Go to the Nvidia page, select your graphics card and see if there is a Studio driver for it.
Here is my graphics card as an example:

Thanks once agin. I.ll try to access and download that.

I've followed the previous advise and managed to rended a 3 minute video with audio and it did not crash out. My only concern was the time taken to render. Fifteen minutes for a simple three minute video consisting of one video track recorded using green screen, a fixed image of a background, an audio track and a short title track at the beginning and end.

Render time has many influencing factors.
Two of them are the properties of your media file (Mediainfo) and the render settings (screenshot) and your project-settings (screenshot), of which we know nothing.

Thanks to all who have helped me.

I seem to have solved the problem by downloading the Studio driver for my GEforce 1660 super graphics card. My videos don't seem to disappear any more!

Thanks once again
