"If you import a clip shot in portrait mode into Vegas Effect, the vertical image will be imported as is, but if you import it into Vegas Pro, it will be distorted and unusable. Of course, converting the codec solves the problem, but it is possible in Vegas Effects, but when will it be possible in Vegas Pro?"
I don't have the media, but maybe you can try check:
Try Right click in the media file>Properties>Media Tab
And look for the Pixel Aspect Ratio, what number is it? I assume it should be 1.000 (square)

You are misunderstanding. I'm talking about a way to display it vertically on a 16:9 screen without leaving any sides on either side. What I want is Instagram's 9:16 ratio. Applies directly to the Vegas effect. But Vegas Pro... doesn't work. Is there a way to do it all at once without going through it twice? Or is it a bug I originally applied for? Anyway, thank you all for your interest.
One is Project Pixel Aspect Ratio, which is already 1.000 by default. You reach via File>Properties.
and another is the Source Media Pixel Aspect Ratio, which shown distorted here, because the media is currently detected wrong by VEGAS Pro 21, so you need to change this via right click on the media>Properties, change from 3.1605 to 1.000.
