Do MOV files still use Quicktime in VP13 v545? What about VP14?

I know in the past Vegas became unstable if more than 50 MOV files were on the timeline due to having to use 32bit Quicktime - Is that still the case? I shoot nothing but Mirrorless cameras and the video files are h264 MOV wrapped video files and I want to know if I should be rewrapping them into another wrapper that's friendly with Vegas Pro 13.

Vegas bypasses Quicktime for MOV files that contain AVC video and PCM or AAC audio. It decodes them directly with native decoders. I came in at VP12 and 12/13/14 all do this. I cannot say about VP version before 12. You can tell what Vegas is doing by looking at the plug-in used for the file (right click properties). If it is qt7plug.dll then Quicktime is being used. CompoundPlug is used when bypassing Qt for AVC MOV files.

The 50 file thing was mostly related to DNxHD, Prores or even Cineform in MOV.

Thanks @NormanPCN - I did that and can confirm the CompundPlug is being used which is a huge relief for me. I recently quit using PPro CS6 and it still relies upon Quicktime to decode MOV and MP4 files. Beginning to think that had something to do with my recent troubles with Adobe and have since fully transitioned over (Still nervous about it though) to Vegas Pro. Resolve is just too complicated for my needs and I'm not a fan of node based color grading/correction.

Unfortunately some AVC+AAC MOV files still use Quicktime, in particular iPhone videos. I wish they didn't. I'm not sure exactly what aspect of such a files makes is unreadable in compoundplug and so fall back to the Quicktime codec. Perhaps the profile/level. Recent discussion.
